First Aid COURSES

Health and Safety Executive (FAIB) certificates are issued (registration number 85/09) Courses are run in a friendly and relaxed manner. Where necessary candidates will be assessed by experienced assessors chosen for their easy going and sympathetic manner.

Emergency First Aid Course

This is a one day course, it is suitable for all who wish to learn Basic First Aid and those who need a formal qualification, but the risk assessment shows that the full First Aid at Work certificate is not necessary. The course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

The course content will be tailored to the needs of the workplace(s) involved but will always cover:

First Aid Legislation

Assessing incidents

Dealing with unconscious casualties and Resuscitation

Choking

Asthma

Bleeding

Shock

Diabetes

Epilepsy

Aftercare

First Aid kits

AED awareness

Assessment

There is no external assessment. Candidates will need to demonstrate competency to the course tutor during the course.

Numbers

The maximum number of candidates allowed is 12, It is difficult to run an effective course with less than 5 participants. If run at your premises; smaller numbers can be placed onto one of our open courses.

Assessment

Candidates will be required to undertake both a theory and practical assessment at the end of the course. The practical assessment is designed to be low stress and ample preparation is given
