Licence Renewal/Upgrade Requirements

A candidate must have a valid in date licence in the category to be renewed and have a filled in Logbook with at least 60 entries, 10 of which must be in the last year.

Operators

In order to renew or upgrade a licence, an Operator must successfully complete the IPAF approved Theory Test Paper. In addition to this, an Operator must achieve the required standard when operating each of the machine categories for which licence renewal or upgrade is required. In this instance, it is permitted to hold 12 practical tests in one day. Only Operators who have been filling out their log books (over five years the log book should be i.e. half full, 60 entries) will be eligible for a renewal test. All renewals must be done before the expiry date. If the Operator licence has expired the Operator will have to do the full Operator course.

Demonstrators

In order to renew a licence, a Demonstrator must successfully complete the IPAF Operator theory and practical and the Demonstrator Theory Test Paper (3.3.1). In addition to this, a Demonstrator must successfully complete the Demonstrators practical test in regards to each of the machine categories for which licence renewal is required. A Demonstrator, renewing prior to their licence expiry must produce a filled in log book (over 5 years should be i.e. half full, 60 entries) to be able to do Demonstrator theory and practical only. All renewals must be done before the expiry date or the Demonstrators must do the full Operator and Demonstrator courses. If a Demonstrator wants to add a category they must do the operator theory test and practical test on that category then do the demonstrator course.

Operators/Demonstrators

An Upgrades and Renewal course is available with new information added to the course in the previous 5 years. Theory and Practical test will still apply.
